Integrative anti-crisis agreement: employees start working earlier
“Silca, leading keys and key cutting machines manufacturer based in San Giacomo, has achieved yet another important result after meetings with Trade Unions.”

The integrative bonus based on parameters such as quality, efficiency and profitability fixed in 2010 and well-received by Trade Unions has been confirmed and extended, while common consent has been reached on the anticipation of the morning shift to help workers avoid the hottest hours of the summer days. Silca, leading keys and key cutting machines manufacturer based in San Giacomo, has achieved yet another important result after meetings with Trade Unions.
Paolo Pagotto, secretary of the Fiom’s Trade Union in the province of Treviso, commented: “This integrative bonus extension based on efficiency, profitability and quality represents an important sign, not only from an economic point of view, but also because it is accompanied by encouraging news about the industrial production, which seems to have established much stable global volumes .”
The integrative bonus amount will be defined only in September following the definition of the profitability rate of the company, which, being part of the listed Kaba Group, has to respect the Stock Exchage terms. The general outlook is positive and leading to investments and the introduction of brand new high-quality products.
As regards the summer shifts, the agreement will be signed soon: the firm, Fiom and Company’s Unions Representatives agree on the common goal of preventing employees from working in the hottest hours of the day. The morning shift will be anticipated by one hour or so in order to exploit the coolest temperatures of the morning. As a consequence, workers will finish earlier to avoid the unbearable temperatures reached in certain departments of the plant due to the machinery used.
“We are going to support initiatives that aim to keep high-quality standards, also as regards working conditions, and sustain investments and profits: this is what we expect and support in order to overcome the crisis ” said Pagotto. “If the crisis is not fronted with the effective mentioned countermeasures, workers might be forced to face bonus erase and might be asked to work unpaid hours, as we have recently read in the newspapers, with the result that workers are burdened with the weight of the crisis.”
