KABA KEY SYSTEMS is the first worldwide producer of keys, key cutting machines and automotive solutions

Kaba is one of the largest group in the world within the security industry. The Swiss multinational, listed in the Zurich Stock Exchange, dominates the sector with a turnover of over one billion Swiss francs in the fiscal year ended last 30 June and a plethora of state-of-the-art access system solutions and security products.
In particular, thanks to the Key Systems segment, the company is the first worldwide manufacturer of automotive solutions, vehicle key programming devices, keys for any type of use and key cutting machines. The Key Systems Division, led by Chief Operating Officer and Silca S.p.A. Managing Director Stefano Zocca, represents approximately 20% of the Kaba Group, employees 1650 people worldwide and produces 650 million keys every year.

The company
The Silca factory in Vittorio Veneto is one of the flagship sites of the group. Other manufacturing plants are based in England, in the United States, in China and in India. Key Systems, serving a worldwide and demanding clientele, operates with two well-known brands: Silca (in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and South America) and Ilco (in North America). Over the years, Silca has become an important benchmark for key cutters and locksmiths worldwide, boasting continuous investments in technological research and development. Moreover, Silca has always paid much attention to the territory where it is based, supporting initiatives and promoting activities in partnership with local institutions.

Silca keys are globally widespread. Chances are that if you look through your bunch of keys, you will find a Silca yourself. The company has always worked far from the clamour, investing highly in innovation, which has brought to the achievement of several internationally recognised certifications.
Silca certifications are three: the ISO 9001:2008, the ISO/TS 16949:2009 for automotive keys, necessary to operate for the automotive industry, and recently the ISO 14001:04 for the Environmental Management System. The attainment of this last certificate was particularly meaningful for Managing Director Stefano Zocca, who invested significantly in improvements to the manufacturing processes in order to reduce the company’s carbon footprint and energy consumption.

Human resources
However, the company does not care only for the environment, but also for the people. In fact, in the past few years Silca has collaborated with a number of Research Institutes, Schools and Universities in order to promote initiatives involving talented youth. The young people who participated in the projects had the chance to test their skills and work with the company’s managers and tutors.
